New Zealand Part 3 - Milford Sound

Milford Sound

Sadly, a dodgy ankle meant that I was not able to join my friends on the 4 day Milford Track hike which looked amazing. However I did travel down to Milford Sound to enjoy the region at a more sedate pace. The drive down is in itself a fantastic experience with dramatic scenery at every turn.

The Sound itself is actually a fjord, its one of the wettest places on earth with annual rainfall of 6.4 metres per year! However once again we were blessed with perfect weather to view this incredible part of the world.

One of the best ways to see the Sound is by boat, we took 2 trips. First was a late afternoon cruise on a mercifully empty boat where we were treated to waterfalls, rainbows and dolphins.

We also kayaked around the area, a great way to see it up close and personal.

As ever please get in touch to discuss ordering high quality prints of any of the images that you like here.

Part 4 will feature Queenstown - you won't want to miss that!
